History of Shoshone Golf Club. The course’s roots go back to the early 1920s, when one of the Good Old Boys decided the Silver Valley was a place to play a game of golf. It all began down on Big Creek with three holes, sand greens and a clubhouse built with donated lumber. The course was relocated to the top of Gold Run Mountain in 1979 when the Sunshine Mining Company purchased the land the original course was on. Shoshone Golf Course continues to provide a recreational facility for the residents of northern Idaho, eastern Washington, western Montana and numerous parts of Canada.
