Bonners Ferry: Kootenai River Ride
Starts: September 16, 2017 - 8:00am
Enjoy a yearly favorite for bikers and the beautiful fall scenery this September on the annual Kootenai River Ride! Riders will pedal along the great Kootenai River to the Kootenai Wildlife Refuge where bikers will have the opportunity to see spectacular scenery and potential wildlife (all on a paved road)! While in the refuge, bikers can detour and take a quick walk up to the breathtaking Myrtle Creek Waterfall! Since the ride comes in three length options (16k, 60k, and 100k), longer-distance riders will also travel through the Kootenai River Valley and beautiful farm lands. For our 100k riders, you will get to traverse the Katka hill taking you to the overlook of the entire Kootenai River Valley, the city of Bonners Ferry and more. Post-Katka, the ride will continue through scenic wilderness on a paved USFS road. Once you end the ride, our team awaits you at the finish line with a fully stocked rest stop!
All riders will meet at the Boundary County Fairgrounds for check-in. The actual ride begins at the following times: 100 K – 8:00 a.m.; 60K – 9:00 a.m.; 16K – 9:30 a.m.
Each rider is responsible for the mechanical condition of his/her bicycle. It is advised that each rider carry a spare tube, patch kit, and bike pump. All riders are required to wear an ANSI approved bike helmet while riding.
All pre-paid riders will receive a deluxe collectors long sleeve tee-shirt with registration. Bike service available by Far North Outfitters. Healthy snacks and beverages at all stops, route map and riders bag of gifts, and at the finish you can enjoy a great lunch! Afterwards we will hold our annual bike raffle.
Register online or in person the day of the ride! All fees help raise funds for the Bonners Ferry Rotary Club. 100% of these funds are returned to the community through Rotary projects.
