Post Falls, Idaho

Ready for an adventure? Just over the Washington/Idaho border and minutes from I-90 you’ll find an outdoor enthusiast’s haven in Post Falls. The naturally forested historic town has hiking and biking trails, amazing granite cliffs and rock outcroppings for climbing and bouldering, along with numerous water-sport activities.  Post Falls feels amazingly remote among the towering pines and stunning views of the falls, yet your only steps away from eateries, breweries, and a variety of overnight accommodations.

Right in the center of it all sits the Post Falls Community Forest. With more than 500 acres for adventuring, you’ll find 10 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails that link into about 20 miles of loop routes. Take a leisurely or challenging path; there’s a route for everyone. Along the way explore two miles of Spokane River shoreline with several enticing swimming holes and a whitewater playground for kayakers and anglers.

The Community Forest connects to the region’s best natural rock-climbing area in a beautiful 78-acre park, Q’emiln Park (pronounced “Ka-Mee-Lin”). With an easy scenic approach, these fingertip friendly crags offer over 100 routes among its diverse geography: traditional, sport, top-rope and bouldering for all levels and ages. The cliffs are mostly hidden under a tree canopy near the rushing Spokane River, so it remains cool and shady throughout the summer. In addition to climbing, Q’emiln Park is the place to slip your boat into the river for an exciting day of skiing, boarding, and site seeing.

Now you know about Post Falls, the hidden gem in the heart of the Inland Northwest.  A family friendly destination.  A place to satisfy the yearning to get out and explore.  Your next great adventure is waiting. Adventure begins here… in Post Falls, Idaho.
