Brush Lake Mountain Bike Trails
One of the newest and nicest single-track mountain bike trails in the region, with features designed by bikers, the Brush Lake Trail is on Forest Service lands about 30 minutes drive north of Bonners Ferry.
It’s an intermediate ride with relatively small elevation gain that beginners might tackle to hone their skills. The trail constitutes about a six-mile loop around small Brush Lake; many bikers also reverse-ride the route to make it 12 miles. The trail includes some large rock outcroppings to ride over plus a teeter-totter for advanced riders to try.
On a warm day, the lake provides for a refreshing dip; Brush Lake also offers fishing, though that’s best from a boat as much of the shoreline has difficult access. There is a small picnic and day use area.
