Post Falls East
Fun for families; fun for golfers; fun on the lake. That, and more, are the offerings along the Post Falls East tour that takes in the town of Hayden as well as Silverwood - a splendid investment of a day, or more in any visit to North Idaho.
Golfers can make it a two-fer if they work their schedules correctly, with stops at the Hayden Lake Country Club in Hayden, and the Avondale Golf Course practically next door. Both offer 18 holes with well maintained greens and challenging fairways.
For family fun, the two best fun parks in the region, hands down, lie along this route. Little more than 15 minutes driving time is Triple Play Family Fun Park, with a cornucopia of indoor entertianments plus an indoor water park. Another 15 minutes north is the larger Silverwood Theme Park and Boulder Beach Water Park - the largest theme park in Idaho and in fact, the entire Northwest.
For chill in' by the lake, Hayden Lake has several parks and beaches along its clear waters. A bit farther north, one of the crown jewels of the Idaho park system is Farragut State Park, encompassing a former World War II naval base on Lake Pend Orielle - Idaho's largest lake. Farragut has miles of hiking and biking trails along with very scenic beaches and lakefront.
